Matthew has been a member of the Hartford Chapter since 2004. He served as the Assistant HSCC Coordinator in 2005 and 2006. For the past two years he has taken over as HSCC \ Youth Education Coordinator. Although Matthew has been active in the adult portion of the Chapter, it is the Youth portion of the chapter that is his true passion.

Whether it’s teaching, picking up snacks, sending emails, making phone calls, or just encouraging a student, Matthew is all about helping the Youth to succeed and reach their full potential. In addition, Matthew is in charge of maintaining and running the State of Connecticut Department of Children and Families (DCF)\BDPA Computer Learning Program. For the past two years, more than 40 DCF Youth have taken over a combined 30 weeks of IT classes in the following curriculum: Microsoft Office, Computer Hardware, Operating Systems, and HTML web page design. Professionally, Matthew has worked in IT for over 11 years.

His background is very diverse and includes work in the following areas: desktop support, LAN support, Network security administration, and enterprise software distribution. In addition, Matthew has also served as one of the owners of OnPoint Consultants, LLC for the past 7 years.

In his free time, he has been a member of the nationally ranked Western Mass Blitzing Bears semipro football team for the past 9 years. Moving forward, Matthew has many great things planned, that will undoubtedly help the Youth of BDPA and the Greater Hartford area go from “The Classroom To The Boardroom.” Erica Palm
