Currently an Architecture Manager at CIGNA with 20+ years of IT experience, Mary’s professional experience includes Application design and development, Software and Infrastructure Architecture (Enterprise and Domain), Technical project management and Technology Consulting in various industries (Insurance, Financial, Transportation, Retail, etc).
Mary graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Connecticut majoring in MIS, with a minor in Finance. She has an M.S.IT degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in addition to two Masters Certificates in Software Engineering and Information Systems from RPI. Mary is currently working on Software Architecture certification from SEI (Software Engineering Institute) at Carnegie Mellon University. She also spent 4 years studying Microbiology and Parasitology (1980-1984).
Mary loves teaching and mentoring high school students and young adults. So, when not at work, she is involved in various community programs including CIGNA's “My friend taught me”. She is also a member of the Advisory committee of the University of Hartford’s IT community Support Project which provides IT training for Hartford youth, and was the Coordinator for the Black Data processing Association (BDPA) Hartford chapter’s High School Computer program.
Mary’s hobbies are Traveling, Reading, learning new things, creative cooking and enjoys spending time with her husband and three sons.
